The catch, honestly stated: whether a node can stand in for a certified printer depends on how your POS prints. If it prints to a network printer (raw ESC/POS on port 9100), that path works on the bench today. Vendor-specific protocols are on the roadmap — here's the full compatibility picture.

How it deploys
One small node per station, not a server room.
A node velcros to the back of the hardware it drives. Front counter, kitchen line, bar — each station gets its own node, so one failure never takes down the whole floor.
